At Dartmouth Pride, our mission is to be a local Pride for our local LGBTQ+ community. 

At Dartmouth Pride, we are a Pride for all. We're here to support new same-sex couples in town, celebrate the opening of LGBTQ+ businesses, accompany our friends in the community on their journey to self-discovery as they transition into their true selves,

and offer a helping hand to parents supporting their LGBTQ+ children who have recently come out. 

We are a Pride for all, committed to serving the diverse needs of our Dartmouth community.

June is Pride Month—a worldwide celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. It began with the NYC Stonewall riots in 1969 and has grown into a vibrant celebration of progress. This month is all about equality, acceptance, education of LGBTQ+ history, and honouring the accomplishments of people within our community. While it is a time when we celebrate, it is also a time to raise awareness about specific issues we face and to carry the torch of our brothers and sisters who came before us to continue the fight for equal rights, social justice, and respect for all.

While Pride celebrations around the world take on many forms from marches to corporate parades, concerts, and shows, Pride can also be a simple gathering of a small LGBTQ+ community in a rural town in Devon. This is where we find ourselves at Dartmouth Pride.

Launched in 2021, Dartmouth Pride has created a welcoming space for our local LGBTQ+ community to connect. Dartmouth is a place of kindness and diversity, filled with remarkable individuals from all walks of life. We aim to foster an even stronger sense of community, sharing the spirit of unity with future generations through our humble events.

This year is our 5th anniversary of Dartmouth Pride! We're thrilled and beyond excited as this year we'll be growing and moving our celebrations to the Royal Avenue Gardens on 28 June 2025!

But this year we’re celebrating Pride Month all month long! We’re thrilled to announce some amazing activities we’re planning throughout the month! 

PRIDE MONTH EVENTS:

1st June: Pride Hike to the Daymark! 

Event: Pride Hike

Date: 1st June

Time: 1PM

Where: Meeting at Kingswear Train Station

Cost: FREE EVENT

Kick off Pride Month with our Pride Hike! Anyone is welcome to join us on our roundtrip hike from Dartmouth to the Daymark! This is a moderate to difficult hike, approximately 5 miles roundtrip, and about 3 hours long. We will meet at Kingswear Train Station at 1PM to begin the hike. 

This is a free event and open to all of the LGBTQ+ community & Allies! 

If you aren’t able to join us for the hike but would like to join us after, we’ll end at the Dolphin Inn around 4PM for drinks and live music will begin around 7PM.

18th June: Pride Kayak on the River Dart

Event: Pride Kayak

Date: 18th June

Time: 5:45

Where: Meeting at Coronation Dinghy Park 

Cost: £10/person. Limited Space Available. Email hello@dartmouthpride.uk to book. 

We’re getting active this Pride and kayaking on the River Dart! We hoe kayak from the High Ferry to Dartmouth Castle & back. The kayak will be lead by a qualified kayak lead from Dartmouth Yacht Club. It is of moderate difficulty & weather/tide dependent. 

PLEASE NOTE: This is a paid event, £10 person. Limited Kayaks available so please email hello@dartmouthpride.uk to book your place! 

This event is in partnership with Dartmouth Yatch Club, Explore Dartmouth, & Dartmouth Collective (20s/40s). 

This event is open to all of the LGBTQ+ community & Allies! This event is 18+.

28th June: Dartmouth Pride Festival 2025

We’re BEYOND THRILLED to celebrate Dartmouth’s 5th Pride Festival this year on 28th June 2025!

As we celebrate our 5th Anniversary, it feels only fitting for us to grow our Festival and make it bigger & better as we move into the Royal Avenue Gardens! This is a free event and open to all of the LGBTQ+ community & Allies! 

Here are our plans for the day: 

10:30AM PRIDE WALK: Our walk will start once again this year at the Dartmouth Castle! Bring your partners, families, friends, & even your pets as we slowly walk from Dartmouth Castle back into town & along the Embankment. If you arrive early, you can grab some refreshments from @dartmouthcastletearooms and enjoy the beautiful view! This event is family friendly. 

11AM to 6PM PRIDE FESTIVAL: This year we’re moving our celebrations to the Royal Avenue Gardens! With live music in the bandstand, a DJ mixing it up between sets, & vendors in the gardens, we are beyond excited for this year’s Pride Festival filled will fun & festivities! 

6PM to 11PM PRIDE AFTERPARTY @ Dartmouth Yacht Club: 

For those wanting to crank up the fun into the evening, we’ll be at DYC this year with live entertainment & a DJ playing all the Pride anthems & will dance the night away! 

Whether you identify as part of our LGBTQIA+ community or stand as an ally supporting us, we eagerly look forward to seeing and welcoming you at this year’s Pride!

We are excited to celebrate Pride month starting 1st June. Last year we had an amazing response to our “Pride Month Decoration Contest" during the month of June & would love for you to join in again this year! If you would like to join, here are our judging criteria: 

In order to enter, our OFFICIAL Dartmouth Pride Flyer needs to be displayed in the Window. The display must be up by 10am on 8th June and remain up until the end of our Dartmouth Pride, taking place on 28th June 2025. Displays must be family friendly & inclusive.

The Judging Criteria: 

Overall Creativity: Creativeness & originality in the design concept. (40%)

Overall Presentation & “Wow-factor: The craftsmanship of the creation & details in the design. (30%)

Use of Colour (15%)

Use of Store’s Products (10%)

Posting Your Window on Facebook/Instagram by 24 June & Tagging Dartmouth Pride @dartmouthprideuk (5%)

Official judging will take place between 24th to 28th June. 

Once again we will have a prizes for the top 3 winners!

SECOND PLACE: £75 Gift Certificate to Simon Drew

THIRD PLACE: £50 Gift Certificate to Salcombe Dairy Ice Cream
