At Dartmouth Pride, our mission is to be a local Pride for our local LGBTQ+ community. 

At Dartmouth Pride, we are a Pride for all. We're here to support new same-sex couples in town, celebrate the opening of LGBTQ+ businesses, accompany our friends in the community on their journey to self-discovery as they transition into their true selves,

and offer a helping hand to parents supporting their LGBTQ+ children who have recently come out. 

We are a Pride for all, committed to serving the diverse needs of our Dartmouth community.

June is Pride Month—a worldwide celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. It began with the NYC Stonewall riots in 1969 and has grown into a vibrant celebration of progress. This month is all about equality, acceptance, education of LGBTQ+ history, and honouring the accomplishments of people within our community. While it is a time when we celebrate, it is also a time to raise awareness about specific issues we face and to carry the torch of our brothers and sisters who came before us to continue the fight for equal rights, social justice, and respect for all.

While Pride celebrations around the world take on many forms from marches to corporate parades, concerts, and shows, Pride can also be a simple gathering of a small LGBTQ+ community in a rural town in Devon. This is where we find ourselves at Dartmouth Pride.

Launched in 2021, Dartmouth Pride has created a welcoming space for our local LGBTQ+ community to connect. Dartmouth is a place of kindness and diversity, filled with remarkable individuals from all walks of life. We aim to foster an even stronger sense of community, sharing the spirit of unity with future generations through our humble events.

This year is our 6th anniversary of Dartmouth Pride on 27 June 2026! We're thrilled and excited as we plan to once again have our celebrations in the Royal Avenue Gardens right in the heart of Dartmouth!

Music & drinks & vendors... oh my! 

10:30AM PRIDE WALK: Our walk will start once again this year at the Dartmouth Castle! Bring your partners, families, friends, & even your pets as we slowly walk from Dartmouth Castle back into town & along the Embankment. If you arrive early, you can grab some refreshments from Dartmouth Castle Tea Rooms and enjoy the beautiful view! Please wear appropriate footwear for the walk & consider bringing water in case it’s hot! This event is family friendly. 

11AM to 6:30PM PRIDE FESTIVAL: We’re thrilled to be once again celebrating our festival in the Royal Avenue Gardens! With live music in the bandstand, a DJ mixing it up between sets, & vendors in the gardens, we are beyond excited for this year’s Pride Festival filled will fun & festivities! This event is family friendly. 

6:30PM to LATE PRIDE AFTERPARTY at the Dartmouth Yacht Club: For those wanting to crank up the fun into the evening, we’ll be at DYC with live entertainment & a DJ playing all the Pride anthems & will dance the night away! This event is more adult oriented.

We’re once again asking businesses and shop fronts to join our “Pride Month Decoration Contest” during the month of June and share the rainbow with love, kindness, and equality! And once again, we have some amazing prizes to be won! If you would like to join, here are our judging criteria: 

In order to enter, our official Dartmouth Pride Flyer needs to be displayed in the Window. The display must be up by 10am on 6th June and remain up until the end of our Dartmouth Pride, taking place on 27th June. Displays must be family friendly & inclusive. And remember, it’s a WINDOW DISPLAY COMPETITION so the judges will base it all from what they can see from out front of your shop! 

The Judging Criteria: 

Overall Creativity: Creativeness & originality in the design concept. (30%)

Overall Presentation & “Wow-factor: The craftsmanship of the creation & details in the design. (30%)

Use of Colour (20%)

Use of Store’s Products (15%)

Posting Your Window on Facebook/Instagram by 23 June & Tagging Dartmouth Pride @dartmouthprideuk (5%)

If you would like to participate in our competition, please email hello@dartmouthpride.uk to officially be considered. We will provide you with an official flyer to display in your window.

Official judging will take place between 23rd to 27th June. Our judges are from our sponsor businesses so trying to bribe our Dartmouth Pride UK team won’t work! 🤣
